FURNISH

complete guide to furnishing your short term rental

Define your ideal guest

Before you even begin thinking about furnishing your short term rental. It's important to think about who will be staying at your property. Once you have a clear picture of who your ideal guest is, it will be much easier to create a property that caters to their taste, needs, and wants.
  • Who is your ideal client?
  • Why are they staying at your property?
  • What do they enjoy doing?
  • Where do they shop?
  • How do they vacation?
  • Will they have kids or pets?
  • How many guests will your property accommodate?

always buy extra

Quick turnover is essential with a busy short term rental, and laundry is generally the most time consuming aspect of airbnb turnovers.  You will want to have an extra set of linens for every bed in order to expedite this.  Don't stop with linens though.  Buying extra tableware will save you from having to buy a whole new set when a guest accidentally breaks an item.   I recommend buying an extra set of plates, bowls, and glasses and keeping these in storage until they're needed.

When in doubt, choose white.

There's a reason you almost always see white towels and white linens when you stay at a hotel.  White fabric can be bleached, which makes it more likely to last!

Guests also perceive white linens as cleaner. So do yourself a favor and skip the colorful prints here, and opt for white instead.
